Monster's Den: Book of Dread Instructions

As far as controls are concerned, there is nothing complicated about Monster's Den: Book of Dread. Like RPG games such as Sonny and Sonny 2, this one only requires a mouse - a working one of course. Just make sure that the left click button is working and you are good to go. Perform actions, move from one room to another - do those with just a click. With that taken care of, let's check out the game...

Monster's Den: Book of Dread Walkthrough

Monster's Den: Book of Dread - essentially, it's one of those RPG games that are turned based and tactical dungeon crawl type. When you go into battle, you better make sure your team members are stationed on the correct positions. Short range fighters like warriors should be on the front row - they should stick as close as they can to the enemy. Long range casters and attackers like rangers and mages, on the other hand, should stay behind providin appropriate fire power and cover.

The game comes with 3 unique and exciting quests (1) the original Den Of Corruption which came from the first edition of the game which now has an updated playable interface (2) the new Den Of Terror quest. This comes with an extra boss fight on every level and comes with a rare, intriguing, and random events (3) and last BUT not the least, we have the Survival Mode. This is where you need to massively power up your team...bring out everything you've got to fend off endless waves of attackers. Yeah, they will overcome you sooner or later - either your team is weakened or the computer explodes from overuse. Either way, they will get you. BUT it's fun to see how far you can go.

Aside from these 3 interesting game modes, you also have a choice between 3 levels as well as a number of options that lets you fine tune your experience. By the way, the hardcore mode is really for hardcore players. In this game, once you die, that's it. Game over.

Need a walkthrough or step by step instructions? Well, there are none. HOWEVER, the pop up instructions do a good job of explaining the interface - its ins and outs, while giving you hands on training. Believe me, this is one of the MOST concrete and user friendly RPG games you can lay your hands on. Along with that, almost everything in the game comes with additional information. All you have to do is move your mouse over the object and that's it.

If you are looking for RPG games that are somewhere between smooth interaction and classically engaging creature portraits, then Monster's Den: Book of Dread is an excellent game to check out. It's the best there is if you are looking for casual browser based dungeon crawls. The options you have for customizing and building your party is pretty expensive and the variety of skills for the 7 unique character classes are pretty decent to. As for the enemies, don't worry - they are smart enough and have skills of their own that will keep the challenge meter up. That holds true even for easy encounters!

Boss battles? Ah! This game has some of the best! They shine with personality and you better know how to form the right strategy. If your party is weak, you may want to skip them. BUT keep in mind, by steering clear from boss battles, you are missing out on the rarest and coolest items in the game. The clashes with the Gorgon and Hydra - 2 legendary creatures, are the best in the game!
